Music for Schools Foundation (Westcountry)
Teachers must be registered as 'Self Employed', have a clear Police record, their own reliable transport and have email facilities. They are required to do a little administration in support of their own work, must be well dressed, punctual and reliable.
Pay rates vary on merit but most of our teachers are currently able to earn more than £23 per hour with us.
We are usually seeking to recruit more teachers so please contact us if you think you may be suitable.
We will send you our Potential Teacher Information pack which gives full details.
Our ‘Primary Requirement’ is just that...you must be really good with Primary School age children.
We run a comprehensive training programme for our teachers. This is usually free and we can often help with the provision or loan of instruments.
A formal qualification in music is required and teachers will usually have at least either a diploma, Grade Vlll AB (or equivalent) on a brass or woodwind instrument or have a background as a professional brass or woodwind player. (Currently all teachers are also either graduates of the Royal Academy of Music or have BMus, BA, B Ed, etc.)
Although ‘Self Employed’ teachers are required to work strictly under the terms of our ‘Letter of Agreement’.
